After spending some quality time in Iraq, Wes left the US Marine Corps
and decided to try a safer line of work. Wes finished up his Ph.D. in
finance at the University of Chicago and became a finance professor at
Drexel University. In his “spare time” he helped to launch Empirical
Finance, LLC, an investment management and consulting firm focused on
turning academic insight into investment performance.

Lead Developer, AKA “The Karate Kid”, “The Kung Fu Kid”
When he isn’t trying to do programming in an unknown language, banging his head on the wall trying to come up with new algorithms, or trying to understand finance puzzles, Shenglan is learning new programming paradigms, new algorithm design, new accounting tricks (yes, I like tricks) and new … you name it. Well, other than the stuff mentioned above, Shenglan is also a big fan of RTS games and is a sophisticated Star Craft player with over 8 years of experience. Blending love for programming and finance, Shenglan helped to launch Turnkey Analyst. The Karate Kid hopes this app helps you pick the real stock winners.
